Mini sessions have always felt inauthentic and rushed to me, which is why I’ve created my own alternative with these petite summer family sessions – a shorter time frame, but still long enough for the true Firefly experience.
My style is about the story. So five or ten minutes just won’t cut it. I also literally can’t contain myself from delivering more than just 5-10 images.
I feel like making creatively vibrant and emotion-filled images of a family takes a little more finesse than that. And yet, it’s more bite-sized than my full offering for those families who want to dip a toe into this lifestyle photography thing but just aren’t ready to dive into the deep end with me.
The cherry on top is that it’s one all-inclusive payment that includes session, digital files, and print credit for you to use on whatever printed products of your favorites you love right from your gallery.
Who: families on my insiders list looking to celebrate their family on a beautiful summer night
What: 30 minute sessions / min. 20 edited images / all the digital files in your gallery / $50 in print credit
When: July 5,6,7,8 // two spots available per night at 7:15pm or 8:00pm
Where: Location announced to booked clients only for privacy / located in Charlottesville / sample images from our location throughout this post!
NO NO NO NO NO. Not to be rude, but no.
These sessions will be an introductory version of my full family sessions, meaning we use the environment and family connection to capture personality, not props. There’s no one backdrop that you/your wiggly kids will have to stay in front of. With that said, we won’t do a lot of exploring or around our location because I want the focus to be you and your connection as a family, and in order to do that in a short period of time, we won’t be spending a ton of it walking around.
Our location is a wide open field at sunset, though, so I mean, that’s basically the best canvas you can get.
Crucial question. While shorter sessions may seem appealing for people who are self-proclaimed “hate-getting-my-picture-taken” people, they’re not for everyone. (and side note, my sessions are fun- even dads like them.) Here’s who they’re best for:
Normally, I’d say ‘definitely!’ but our location, unfortunately, does not allow pets. If you want your family furball to be included, I recommend booking a full session at your home or another location that’s pet-friendly.
Booking will open on June 1st on a first-come, first serve basis and there are only 8 spots so mark your calendars to make sure you grab one if this is a good fit for your family! If you already get my 2x a month emails then you’re golden, but if not, make sure you sign up here and you’ll get ramped into the tribe.
I know. My whole jam is making this easy and approachable for you, though. I believe EVERYONE deserves to have family photos that remind them of their best selves, their laughter, and their bond because life is not open fields and pretty dresses every day.
Photos of joy transport us and when we surround our home with that, it resonates with our kids, our attitudes, and a spirit of gratefulness. I’ve yet to meet a family who regrets having photos made.
