After a few whirlwind years of growth for Firefly, I’m so excited to finally introduce you to Autumn, the new Studio Manager for Firefly Photography!
I met Autumn through our church community at The Point years ago and immediately admired her poise, warmth, and eagerness to try new things. She has creativity for design, photography, and organization in her bones, not to mention a heart of gold. She’ll be handling handling all our initial communications and delivering final galleries, product design and delivery, and helping with project execution so we can serve our families even better.
Autumn has jumped right in with learning and improving the ins and outs of of our systems and engaging with our families and businesses. She has one of the most humble and kind spirits of anyone I’ve met, and working alongside her is proving to be an incredible joy and new stage of adventure for us both! I can already tell that her role is going to grow as we see just what we’re capable of together! .

Tell us a little about who you are and what life looks like for you right now!
Life has been keeping me on my toes! In June, I got married to the most wonderful man, Aaron. Since then we have moved into a sweet home in Belmont, Charlottesville where we love to cook, walk downtown, and create adventure out of the little things. During the day, you will find me working from home, grabbing lunch with a friend, or at the ACAC pool. I am all about the enneagram and slowly trying to convince every person I meet to be about it with me. 😉 Our house plants all have names and enneagram numbers – too far? But really, it has been the most helpful in becoming a healthier version of myself and understanding others, too!
Where are you from?
I am from Fairfax, Virginia. But, Charlottesville is where I consider home!
What’s your favorite food?
Oh man, I LOVE food. Favorite? Probably anything with a latin flare or sushi.
Current favorite books
I love to read. Some of my recent favorites are Life of the Beloved by Henri Nouwen and an all time favorite is Strong and Weak by Andy Crouch. I am about to dive head first into the Chronicles of Narnia series!

What music/artists do you like to listen to?
Ooo. I could listen to 90’s and early 2000’s music all the time. All things Jessica Simpson, The Goo Goo Dolls, Destiny’s Child, Usher and TLC is my jam. You can also find Sylvan Esso, Leon Bridges, and Vance Joy mixed in more often than not.
What’s your go-to specialty coffee order?
Oat milk cappuccino with a little honey melted into the espresso
What brings you joy?
Jesus, coffee, being on the water, friendship, traveling and food.
What are you most excited about in this new position?
Honestly, I am most excited to get to know our clients. I am excited to hear about the why behind their desire to schedule a session for their family, brand, newborn, etc. I can’t wait to see the results through Leah’s photos and get a glimpse into their unique family story or brand mission.
What do you love most about photography?
Photography holds a special place in my heart. I remember taking photos as a kid with my friends – all posed and dolled up. It seems that as I have grown, my style of photography has shifted and I don’t think it’s a coincidence. As I have learned to embrace the untouched, raw, and beautiful of myself and the world around me, I gravitate towards unposed and documentary style photos (why I love Leah!). What I love about photography is that it can capture a variety of elements. If you are in another country, a photo can capture a culture. At home, a photo can capture a season of life. At a party, a photo can capture joy. In a conversation, a photo can capture contemplation. All of which point to what life seems to be about: movement and moments. Photography has the opportunity to freeze the movement in life and allows you to feel again the most memorable moments.
