Firefly Photography is hiring! Whoa friends, yep, it’s happening – and soon! I started Firefly 7 years ago when one of the only things I knew for sure was that one day, I wanted it to be bigger than just me.
After years (no joke, guys) of praying, wondering, bootstrapping, and learning, that vision is coming to life.
This position is an office position only, not a shooting position. If you are an aspiring photographer or know how to work a camera, that’s always a bonus, but not a requirement!
Working in the studio (aka first level office of my home) is a casual and comfortable atmosphere with the occasional protective bark from our Australian Shepherd, but we work hard to play hard — constantly seeking to serve our families with joy and excellence.
Applicants must be self-starters, motivated workers, and eager to learn. As a Studio Assistant, you will be involved in the daily work of a photography studio : corresponding with clients via email, scheduling appointments / sessions, fulfilling, assembling, and packaging print orders, running business errands, following up on leads, and learning studio-specific software and tasks.
**Ideally, this position will expand to include creative responsibilities as suited the the candidates’ strengths – including but not limited to designing albums, assisting with coordinating events/workshops, writing blog posts, creating marketing materials, and/or culling and editing.
While there will be seasonal fluctuations in hours based on workload, holidays, etc. I’m looking for someone to join me year-round and who is eager to grow with me and this biz baby along the way!

must be local to Charlottesville, VA area and able to meet/work in person at my home office 2-3 days a week during trial period for training
many tasks can be transitioned to virtual and following your trial training period, you will be given the flexibility to complete them in your own time remotely to the standard of the Firefly brand
This position will require that you be available on some holiday weeks, for team events, and team meetings.
This position is compatible with other part time jobs, however, I ask that applicants be exclusive to Firefly within the photography genre

starting rate $10 p/h for 60 day trial period with increase following training based on experience
minimum 8 hours per week (potential for increased hours as needed / during busy season: September – December)
