It’s easy to think that all newborn sessions are sleepy, calm and serene. After all, that’s the majority of what we see in media around newborn sessions at home. But I believe newborn photos can be just as full of personality and vibrance as any other, especially whenever there’s a sibling or two thrown in […]

Big Feelings, Little Houses Project

Behind the project The Big Feelings Little Houses project is an ongoing experiment celebrating the big personality that unfolds in the nooks and crannies of home. Family photos with special needs kids in Charlottesville, VA

Making family photos with special needs kids can offer some unique challenges, but is also such a beautiful collaboration between the family and artist. Planning maternity leave as a family photographer

Planning maternity leave as a family photographer – even as an entrepreneur or small business owner in general – can feel overwhelming and exciting at the same time. Family photographer and educator.

Every man in my life taught me that strength starts with black coffee and every woman showed me that you can be both sweet and spicy.

Scheduling fresh 48 photos can be exciting and intimidating – after all, you have no idea how you’ll be feeling after the intense labor-zone. Maybe the idea of deciding what to wear for fresh 48 photos, dressing up, and being photographed in this stage feels like a hard pass. But the good news is, despite […]
